BMW's real breakthrough came in the 1960s with the introduction of the "Neue Klasse" (New Class) series. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, BMW expanded globally, setting up manufacturing plants outside Germany. BMW also acquired the British brands MINI and Rolls-Royce, extending its luxury vehicle portfolio.

In recent years, BMW has focused on innovation, sustainability, and electric mobility. The company introduced the BMW i3 and i8 under its "BMW i" sub-brand, marking a commitment to eco-friendly technologies. Today, BMW remains a leader in luxury automotive engineering, with advancements in autonomous driving, electric vehicles, and digital connectivity.
